£400+ from Bank switches a quick guide

There are currently almost £400+ available for banks switching offers

(Even more if you have existing accounts with some of the banks)

Whilst it is possible to theoretically complete all switches in a row I’d you have enough accounts to switch, some caution advised. 

Opening a new account will usually record a new hard search on your credit file and opening too many at once could (word being could) negatively effect potential credit.

I would advice against doing this if I was looking for a mortgage in 6 months time and opening accounts with overdrafts will put more available credit to you which could be a negative at least for a few months.

First Direct £150 To Switch

The most pickiest of all the banks on here and this is app/telephone only: there are no branches.

First Direct is lauded for its customer service, it was launched as a telephone only bank back in the day when this was a modern concept. The service levels are amazing and it’s always regarded as the best account for customer service.

If you fit the criteria they also free a £250 0% overdraft. What I will say is if you’ve had any credit problems, or defaults over the past 4-5 years that are on your report I wouldn’t apply, they 99% won’t accept you.

£100 with Nationwide

Perhaps the most ethical bank on the list, from what I’m aware they don’t invest in any fossil fuels and are a building society with good customer service.

£150 for switching to Halifax 

Halifax are a staple of the British high street and part of the Lloyds banking group. 

If you switch to their reward account you get £150 for doing so. The account must include 2 direct debits.
